Souvenirs From ...

You know someone has returned from the best place in the Middle East when you have this souvenir:

I love Lego so I really enjoyed putting together this 3d puzzle.

Our shelf of souvenirs from around the world is now quite full - we have to get a new one!

Here's the latest entry:

Too bad the name - Burj Dubai - is the wrong one. Maybe in a few years it will become a collectible!

Awesome! I have a similar shelf of collectibles! Not as tall I think though, backpacking doesn't allow for a lot of shopping :P

Geeki, true... last time when I went to Europe all I had with me was my carry on, so in Florence I bought a cheap backpack from a Chinese vendor outside the station. It lasted till I got home!

Farah, thanks. Do you know it's made out of foam?

I begged V to let me start a snow globe collection but he wouldn't let me. We have a magnet collection of places visited and a few small towers but not as many as you. I still want to have a snow globe collectin :D

'liya, I have very few snow globes, but I do buy stuff from wherever I go. In addition to these, I have fridge magnets and other collectibles. It's all good fun memories!

This reminds me why I don't have a lot of stuff from the Grand Canyon - car breaking down in the middle of nowhere on a cold winter night - not good memories!

Lat, no, that's not Lego at all. The Burj Al Arab is made of some type of cardboard. The other towers and pieces are standard souvenirs, so stone, plastic, metal, etc.!

Lat, and yup, visitors do go gaga over them! btw I also have a fantastic Lego collection that's elsewhere!

Burj Khaleefa was AMAZING! Though we didn't go up the tower. The surrounding area and the Dubai Mall(??), I think the largest in the world was next to it. Went there around midnight(yap, those pple don't sleep, am paying for that now!). My kids loved dubai (shopping was gr8 before the shopping festival starts at the end of the month). sf
