It's quite amazing when how much time you have on your hand when you are done your studies. So this morning, I stared at my Lego collection - and inspired by Nadia's recent post, an idea began to form.
Here, in no particular order, are some bloggers on my list in Lego.
Organica
Rain or shine, Organica reminds you to be green, and is recently busy with a garden at her local mosque.
Ahmed
Ahmed blogs at GeekiSiddique. His trademarked Perma-grin is enhanced even more as he discovers a giant chocolate!
Liya
Liya and V get ready to set off for their latest travelling adventure around the globe!
Haleem
Haleem (who blogs at Captain Chaos) goes on a bike ride, with the Toronto skyline in the back, accompanied by wife Mona.
Achelois
One of the Queens of the Blogosphere, Achelois combines British humour on life in the Middle East with other topics quite well!
Isheeta
Isheeta goes off on one of her many vacations to Dubai.
Nadia
In sandy Dubai, Nadia is ever ready with her DSLR camera to snap pictures!
Amir
Amir (who blogs at Tweels) in now back in Toronto with his ride.
Aafke
Aafke (of Clouddragon and Aafke Art fame) is shown here with her favourite horse.
Mezba
And finally, you have yours truly, Mezba, with The Wife.
Setup:
The pictures were all taken with a simple point and shoot Canon Cybershot camera (7 MP) in Macro mode and no flash. Here's a setup shot.

I like it! Except....I think I look fat :(
Woehahahahahaaaaa!!!!
Except that I also look fat! >:(
I didn't know you had a beard!
And I am deeply flattered!
This is the most brilliant post like EVER :)
<3
And OMG my next project is planting an apple/fruit orchard at the Mosque.
HAHAHA...you look fat? I look like Kenny Rogers! LMAO
No! No! No! No! Damn! Damn! Damn! Flickr is blocked here, man! Don't do this to me!!!!!
Oh, this is a lovely post! Thank you so much for this. I loved it and it is such perfectly appropriate for each one of us!
Ah! For some strange and secret reason I could view it in Chrome :) Shhhh!
Very Cool!!!
All looking beautiful and gorgeous! Fantastic work,Mezba!
Lat
Geeki, haha ... best original comment on a lego pic! You did find a BIG chocolate!
Aafke, c'mon you look great! :-)
I didn't know you had a beard!
You are on my facebook, I just checked - and NOT limited profile too... :-) so you should be able to see all my pics. Beard included! let me know if you can't.
I had a couple of sets with horses... but alas none were the correct color - they were all white horses.
Organica, ah.. lovely! Apple trees are some of the best to plant - in 3 years you start getting proper fruits.
Amir, I had to google who Kenny Rogers was. But this figure does look a lot like you, real life, eh? And because your blog is "Tweels", had to have something car related in the pic!
Suroor, Oh no! I was afraid that flicker might be blocked in the UAE, but glad to know it works in Chrome... :-) I knew there must be work arounds. Now why would ANY one ban Flickr.. *shakes head*
Thanks for the comment and the link back.
Dave, :-)
Lat, thanks.
Aw what a cute post! I love Geeki's trademark smile!! :D
Adorable! I love putting faces with names so this was very special. Now I can put Lego faces with names. My nephew would absolutely LOVE this! :)
I am not able to view the pictures, even with Chrome :(
Actually, I was able to view the pictures real quick from home (Etisalat) this morning, when I was checking e-mails. But I can't seem to view them from work (Du network). I want to see them now :(
OMG I LOVE IT!!! Okay, so you keep coming up with really great posts and I keep telling you it's my favourite one.. this one beats all for obvious reasons :D
I showed it to V and he loves it too!
And we both laughed at Geeki's comment above hehe.
Oh have you been to Legoland at Niagara Falls? I think you'd love it, it's totally you.
Brilliant post :D
HAHAHAHAHA!!! This is a super cool post! I only know some of them through blogs - the characterization is so perfect!
As an aside, how much $$ HAVE you spent on your Lego?
OMG, I am honoured and I LOOOOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
And i dont look fat either :D
This is one of my favourite posts (cuz its all about us, haha).
Mezba, now I know what to get you for your bday/anniversary!
Haha this is so creative! I have to say that they really do look like the bloggers (from the ones I know)!
Aww, this is so cute! They fit perfectly :D
Sobia, his grin is very catching! I smile whenever I look at it.
Susanne, welcome to my blog.
Nadia, so were you able to see the pictures? If not let me know I will email 'em to you.
Liya, haha! tell V I used the new Prince of Persia head for his figure. It was because of the hair!
I haven't been to the Niagara one, perhaps next time I will pop in for a visit.
Farah, I think my total collection is near about $1000 range - but that's from over 20 years from when I was a kid - my parents had kept my older toys (some of which are now worth a forture really - there's a HUGE market for vintage Lego toys). Though Lego's an expensive thing, I usually don't spend a lot (perhaps will buy one set every 2-3 months, and some near Christmas when they are on special).
Isheeta, now you know! lol. I think NONE of you look fat.. lol I should've use a concave lens then! And this is one of my favourite post too. At the risk of not being modest, I am surprised how good the pictures turned out with my cheap setup.
Muslim Girl, thanks! All because I now have some free time.
Smiley, thanks!

I'm back home now and can see the pictures. I love them all! You are so creative!!! That's why they say that it's the photographer and not the camera :) I like how you showed your set up in the end.
Of course, I absolutely love the lego version of myself! Even my Nikon never looked so handsome, LOL. Oh, and I love the hijab too!
I can't choose one favorite, I really like them all. You did a great job, Mezba. And this is my favorite post ever :)
PS: And thanks for the mention.
PPS: I've put up my picture on my about page :)
Mezba, I'm not doing much on Facebook, but now I will have to check out all your photo's!
I still think the portraits are brilliant! I had another good look at all of them, and they are so funny, but they look good too! With the background more vague. They look really professional.
Can I borrow mine for my blog?
PS I always imagined it would be rather fun if the Tarq had been white instead of dark bay. So hmmm, you're showing quite a Jinnish magical view into my mind...
It's scary!
Nadia, great that you could see the pictures. Thanks for your lovely comments!
I wish I knew how to use Photoshop properly, my point-and-shoot doesn't blur the backgrounds as much as I would like and haven't figured out the aperture settings yet.
Aafke, thanks for the wonderful comments and the praises! :-) The backgrounds are printed pieces of paper lol. For example the sky and the rain are some mosaic images I printed, which I stuck behind the subjects when I was taking the pictures.
Feel free to borrow it for your blog!
I told V about the hair thing, he likes that lol. He plays that game you know!
He said he's going to comment on this post. If he does, it'll be the first comment in months, even I can't get one out of him :D
Liya, I look forward to his comment! :-D
that was so cool
where did you get the big smile piece from? Did liya ever tell you that I beat her in a lego competition??? Maybe she can talk about it in her next post! She has always been jealous of my lego skills!
V

V, the smiley piece came from this figure and set 7079 (Drawbridge Defense). It's the jester.
Liya should talk about the Lego in her next post. I will remind her now :-D I didn't know you beat her in a lego competition!
Ammara, this is indeed Lego.
